WE LEAD
Our Organization is a LEADer in Conducting Large-scale Nature-based Solution Projects in Tanzania
LEAD Foundation is a purpose driven local non-governmental organization (NGO) registered with the Government of Tanzania. LEAD, a locally-led NGO, has a proven experience working in arid and semi-arid areas particularly in implementing landscape restoration and climate-smart agriculture projects using nature-based solutions.

LEAD has been pioneering these ecosystem-based approaches and interventions for more than 12 years as they have proved to be low-cost, fast, replicable and effective in restoring degraded lands and deteriorating ecosystems.

The acronym ``LEAD`` conveys the ethos of the goals of the Foundation; to inspire and equip stakeholders to be upfront in applying most appropriate and effective principles and practices of servant leadership, environmental conservation and action for community transformation.
Our History

LEAD Foundation was established as a Trust in 2011 and in 2015 it was registered as an NGO due to the increase of its activities and scope. LEAD has offices in Mpwapwa where it was founded and in Dodoma – the capital city of Tanzania. It also has field offices in Singida and Arusha.

Our Vision

LEAD Foundation envisions best principles and practices of servant leadership, sustainable environmental conservation and community development practiced across the globe.

Our Mission

LEAD Foundation’s mission is to promote best principles and practices of servant leadership, environmental restoration and community transformation through training, consultancy, research, advocacy and facilitation of community-initiated and led projects and programs, within and outside Tanzania.

Our Approach
