LEAD has been pioneering these ecosystem-based approaches and interventions for more than 12 years as they have proved to be low-cost, fast, replicable and effective in restoring degraded lands and deteriorating ecosystems.
LEAD Foundation was established as a Trust in 2011 and in 2015 it was registered as an NGO due to the increase of its activities and scope. LEAD has offices in Mpwapwa where it was founded and in Dodoma – the capital city of Tanzania. It also has field offices in Singida and Arusha.
LEAD Foundation envisions best principles and practices of servant leadership, sustainable environmental conservation and community development practiced across the globe.
LEAD Foundation’s mission is to promote best principles and practices of servant leadership, environmental restoration and community transformation through training, consultancy, research, advocacy and facilitation of community-initiated and led projects and programs, within and outside Tanzania.
LEAD Foundation is deeply committed to integrated approach that treats its three functions and thematic areas of leadership formation, environmental conservation and community development as one package for the transformation of communities and their environment.
